Shulchan Aruch Project

One of Wikipedia's sister sites has embarked on the Shulchan Aruch project. This is an attempt to translate the entire Shulchan Aruch (side by side with the Hebrew). I've started to help, but they definitely need more volunteers.

You don't need to be able to type in Hebrew to help, just do the translation and someone else will come in to fix it up after you.
The Shulchan Aruch has never been translated into English in its entirety, though parts of it have (especially Orach Chaim). None of the partial translation are free to use (i.e. free content or in the public domain).

The Hebrew text is online here. The goal of this Wikisource text project is to copy that Hebrew text here (it is in the public domain), and add English translations, section by section, as people look up and learn the various simanim.

Thanks for your help with this project!
We all learn some SA at some point, just come in and add it to the website. Some simanim in the The Hebrew Project have the Mishna Berura too.

Hi, I'm very interested by your project, and actually I also have a project of putting online the entire Shulhan Arukh (Ashkenazi Sefaradi and other if there is), in Hebrew, French, English, Spanish and Portuguese maybe (not sure about the last one), but the hardest part for me is to find it already typed in Hebrew.

here's my email: ilan.cohen@hotmail.com

I am very excited in having these texts available online at any given time. It's about time that we had a Shnaim Mikrah v'achad Targum area as well. I am absolutely against having any translation of the text in any language. A translation will only lead to more misunderstanding and to people who think that they now can decide on their own, what the halacha is in any given scenario. Please don't continue down this path without the agreement of most of the Gedolei HaTorah of our generation.

You can already find translations of most of the Kitzur Shulchan Aruch and most of the Mishneh Torah elsewhere online. Why not work on completing one of those translations instead? They have progressed much farther along than any online translation of the Shulchan Aruch.
